Background to the Programme
As part of a number of health care development initiatives in Rawalpindi we have developed a strong link with Taxila Christian Hospital. http://chtaxila.com/ Over the past four years we have delivered Midwifery workshops updating and developing the skills of local community midwives as well as the hospital based midwives. The hospital have now asked if we could assist them in providing workshops for ophthalmology and paediatrics.
Aims of the Programme
The workshops would target both nurses and doctors, incorporating the concepts of whole person care and updating the participants in current best practice.
Details and outline of the Programme being delivered
The workshops are scheduled to run for two or three days and to be interactive in nature.
The workshops are scheduled for the week of February 7th-9th 2023. Tutors are expected to arrive in Rawalpindi on the 6th of February and depart on the 10th February. A number of other activities will be going on at the same time in the same and different venues. A midwifery workshop in Taxila, a palliative care workshop at the Shifa hospital Islamabad and Parish Community Health Visitor training in the diocese.
Accommodation and internal travel is provided by the hospital but as per PRiME policy, flight costs are expected to be met by tutors.
Teaching Commitment Required
To plan, lead and deliver a two- or three-day workshop on current best practice in either ophthalmology or paediatrics targeted to both nurses and doctors. Both specialities are needed.

Particular skills or experience needed
Familiarity and knowledge of the speciality, ability to independently lead a workshop in less-than-ideal circumstances. Flexibility and resilience in the face of changing circumstances.
